“It is s용인안마hocking and painful that our people have been killed while standing in the streets in this horrible, aw예스카지노ful, terrible storm,” Mayor Pedro Espada, Puerto Rico’s de facto leader, said at a press conference Wednesday. “The hurricane is an act of God.”

Puerto Rico President Ricardo Rosselló told reporters he was certain the deadly storm caused Wednesday’s storm surge in San Juan to reach 2 to 4 feet, or 8 to 12 feet, in some places. It’s the highest on record in the city, Rosselló said.

“It is definitely not hurricane force,” Rosselló said.

At least 30 bodies were recovered from flooded streets and apartment buildings Wednesday afternoon in the city of San Juan in a storm surge-devastated area, state officials said. It was unclear if the victims were confirmed dead.

Officials warned that the surge was “going to push our people and their vehicles in and out of the city,” and it could take up to two weeks to clear parts of the city of the damage, although that was an early estimate. The governor called for emergency responders to begin evacuating about two hours after Maria hit, as the storm was expected to make landfall.

On Wednesday, many of the victims in New York City began being transported from their homes by taxi or private car. A number of people reported seeing rescuers outside of Puerto포커 의 신 Rico hospitals.

Gov. Ricardo Rosselló said at a press conference that Puerto Rico is moving people to the capital of San Juan from locations south of the island.
